I’ve been looking around the Internet for information on our quarterback situation, and here’s an interesting quote concerning our 2nd String Rookie Quarterback out of Oregon State, Matt Moore:
With Jake Delhomme and David Carr hurt, undrafted rookie quarterback Matt Moore made a brief appearance for the Panthers. On draft day in April, Ron Jaworski said Moore was the best quarterback prospect after JaMarcus Russell, Brady Quinn and Trent Edwards. All NFL general managers ignored Jaws’ advice, yet now there has been a Matt Moore sighting. And speaking of JaMarcus Russell and Brady Quinn, are they in the NFL?
If you’ve been reading what I’ve written, you’d have noticed that I don’t like David Carr at all. Of course I really want to see him get his act together and turn this team into a playoff contender, but if Carr plays poorly this Sunday, I’ll be the first calling for Moore to come in and pull a poor man’s Ben Roethlisberger. And this is completely based on a gut feeling that I have. And I trust my gut.
